THE FOUNDATION RESOLUTION
The foundation meeting of The International Society of Clinical Bioethics was held on the 17th of June 2003 in the city of Veli Lošinj, Croatia. It was decided that:
- The International Society for Clinical Bioethics shall be founded.
- A procedure for registration in the Register of Associations of the Republic of Croatia must be originated.
- The first draft of the Constitution, that was presented and proposed to the participants of the foundation meeting, was adopted after the discussion, and whose text with all accepted amendments and modifications is the integral part of this resolution.
- All the participants at the foundation meeting shall obtain the status of Founding Members.
- During the first term (4 years), the headquarters of the Society shall be in Croatia, in the city of Opatija.
- During the first term the President shall be Ivan Šegota from Croatia.
- During the first term the 4 Vice-Presidents shall be:
1. Michael Cheng-Tek Tai from Taiwan
2. Tsuyoshi Awaia from Japan
3. Boris Yudin from Russia (in absence)
4. George Agich from USA (in absence)
- All above mentioned persons shall form the Board of Directors, together with 4 other persons who shall be:

Miguel Bedolla from USA
3.
Ivan Kaltchev from Bulgaria
4.
Jovan Marić from Serbia and Montenegro
- During the initial period of the first term the duties of Secretary and Treasurer shall be performed by a single person, Iva Sorta-Bilajac from Croatia.

Note: due to the impossibility to hold the ISCB Symposium in Bulgaria, the decision was made to transfer the 4th ISCB Symposium to Aix en Provence, France, as a joint conference with the 3rd FRENCH- JAPANESE BIOETHICS SEMINAR.

6th ISCB ANNUAL MEETING

1. The ISCB is happy to report to you that papers presented at the 6ISCB / 5ICCEC will be published in Vol 10 of Formosan Journal of Medical Humanities that will be ready to mail out next week. We need at least three issues to finish publishing all the papers we received. Therefore around 8 papers will be in this coming issue, the next ten papers will be in next issue in early next year or late this year and then the rest in the fowllowing issue.
2. Our next year's conference is planned to be held in Bulgaria but in case Prof. Ivan Kaltchev needs to have a change, Prof. John Tuohey of Portland, Oregan, USA has extended invitation to help. John has written to Ivan suggesting the two conferences ( 6 ICCEC and 7 ISCB) to join together. if need be just like what we did in Taiwan this March. Ivan will make his decsion soon.
3. 6 ICCEC will be held next May in Portland and we like to encourage the
participation of our members. ICCEC was initiated by George, our own member and we always enjoy the learning opportunity and fellowship in
ICCEC. Please send your abstrcat to John now.
4. We congratulate to our honorary president Dr.Ivan Segota's retirement
from U of Rijeka. A book in celebration of his retirement at 70 was published last month with many papers from our Society members and big names of the world.
5. We thank Prof. Iva Sorta for her great contribution as a general secretary since the inauguration of the ISCB. She will serve as a board director of ISCB now and the post of genereal secretary will be filled by Dr. Gordana Pelcic to be in effect from this month. Dr. Morona Brkljacic will serve as the vice G.S.
