Introduction

● The Department of Optometry in Chung Shan Medical University is the only one established in Taiwan.

● In 1992, classes were opened for enrollment to opticians nationwide.

● Beginning in 1999, the School of Optometry held extension courses for those interested in continuing education. Each year the School accepts 45 new students for enrollment.

● In the year 2000, the Department of Optometry officially accepts student enrollment through nationwide college entrance examination. The yearly number of college enrollment per class is 45. After four years of college course studies, students graduate with a degree in Bachelor of Optometry.
